Two sailors journey west across the Pacific to make a new home in New Zealand
Tahiti/Moorea Sailing Rendezvous Today

Puddle Jump Rally poster
We know we’ve been bad about posting while in Tahiti, and we apologize. Tahiti’s been a different experience, and Jason is working on a post to catch you up on it. In the meantime, I’m dropping you a quick one to let you know that the big Puddle Jump rally we’ve been mentioning since we started is happening today. 70 boats will be taking off from Papeete harbor at 9:30 a.m. for the 16-mile sail to Moorea. Winds have been around 25 kts from the south for the past 2 days, so we expect the channel between the islands to be somewhere around 4 meters once we clear the lee of the islands. Tahina’s a quick one, so we expect it to be over fast, and then we get to join the rest of the boats for Polynesian games and meals ashore. Should be great!
I have always dreamed of seeing the world from this perspective. Everyday new, with new challenges and risks…. A real adventure. Where are you going next!?!
Hey Kris!
After Moorea we went to Huahine for a few days, and now we’re back in Tahiti for a bit until guests arrive. From here we spend a week in Moorea, then drop the guests back off in Tahiti, then sail back out to the Tuamotus to see the total eclipse of the sun on July 11. We’ll visit Hao and Amanu around the eclipse, then swing by Fakarava for some diving on our way back. After that come Raiatea and Tahaa and Bora Bora. We’ll grab a plane from Rarotonga in the Cook Islands to New Zealand in late August. Quite the whirlwind tour!
