We leave for Fakarava tonight, 350 miles to the west-northwest. It should be a quick downwind run. We hope to get there in about 2 days and do some diving in its famous passes—famous for being full of hundreds of reef sharks. I’m excited to get some pics, though our dive housing for the camera seems to have an unidentified leak. If the dive isn’t too deep and the housing holds out, it should be awesome all around.

Lara, Good thing you are not the navigator because Fakarava is West-Northwest from Hao. Have safe dives when you get there and don’t get too close to the sharks. Also, I sure hope this trip is smoother than the last trip was for you. By the way, Tachi is a very sweet and pretty girl; we are enjoying her very much. She is still being shy around us but I think it will get better as time passes. She and Buddy seem to becoming friends more each day.
Haha…must edit. That’s what I get for rushing. I meant W-NW. Thanks Pete.
Very glad to hear the kitties are settling in with one another. She’ll warm up to you too. She can be shy at first, but she really is a lover. Appreciate the update.
That’s good news about Tach – I thought you were a little turned upside down too… ha. So heading downwind, westerly, for some shark diving. Huh. What can I say about that? Glad it’s you and not me? Yeah, that’s about it!
